A note for the Naiko team

Nobody asked for this. That is rather the point

This is an unsolicited concept, built after a cold call in August 2026 and paid for by nobody. It is not Naiko's website and it never will be — it sits on our own domain, it is set to noindex so it can never compete with yours in search, and every page carries a notice saying so. Nothing on it takes a booking; the availability buttons open your existing Sirvoy calendars.

Every photograph, rate, quote, award and date in it is yours and already public. Nothing has been invented — not a testimonial, not a statistic, not a facility. Where a number would have had to be guessed, it was left out.

What follows is what we found while reading both of your sites properly. Most of it is worth fixing whoever ends up doing it.

five-star reviews

And not one of them is on either website

A clean 5.0 across ninety-six reviews is rare enough that most operators would build the homepage around it. Right now it is visible only to somebody who has already found you on Google Maps — which is to say, to people who were going to book anyway.

What we did with it instead

Eight things, all checkable

Don't take our word for any of it

Each of these has a one-line test beside it. None takes more than a minute, and none of them needs us in the room.

  1. Ninety-six five-star reviews, and none of them on your website

    Roughly half a day

Your Google Business Profile carries a 5.0 average from 96 reviews. Not one review, quote or rating appears anywhere on naikoretreat.com.au or naikoatthebluff.com.au.

A perfect rating at that volume is the strongest single asset a property like yours can own, and right now it is only visible to somebody who has already found you on Maps. It should be on the homepage, and it should be in your structured data so Google can show it in search results.

Check it: Search your own name. The rating is right there. Then open your website and look for it.

  2. Your links share as a grey box

    Roughly twenty minutes

Neither site sets an og:image. Paste naikoretreat.com.au into Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp or a text message and it renders with no photograph.

Every time a guest recommends you to a friend, the recommendation arrives with the one thing you sell — the view — missing from it.

Check it: Text the link to yourself and look at what arrives.

  3. The two properties never link to each other

Roughly it is the reason this concept exists

naikoretreat.com.au does not mention Naiko at the Bluff anywhere, and the Bluff site does not send anyone back.

A guest who loved Deep Creek and now has three children has no path to the Villa. And the Villa, which opened in August 2025, inherits none of the authority the older domain has built up since 2019 — it is starting from zero next to a site with four years and a Hall of Fame behind it.

Check it: Search either site for the other one's name.

  4. Every award you have won is inside one JPEG

Roughly a day, including the structured data

Three SA Tourism Awards, the Hall of Fame, a Bronze in Ecotourism, Architectural Digest, the Sydney Morning Herald — all of it is published as a single flat image file with no alt text.

Google cannot read a word of it, a screen reader announces nothing, and none of it can ever appear in a search result. The recognition is real; it is just invisible to everything except a human eye on a desktop.

Check it: Right-click the awards strip and pick 'view image'. That file is the whole record.

  5. The Retreat has no amenities page

    Roughly half a day

The Villa has one — a good one. Deep Creek's equivalent detail is scattered through prose across five pages and the FAQs.

It is the single most-hunted-for thing on an accommodation site. Somebody deciding whether to spend $1,950 a night wants to know whether there is a dishwasher, and how many bathrooms, and whether the wi-fi works, and they want it in one list.

Check it: Try to find out how many bathrooms Deep Creek has without reading four pages.

  6. Your rates are duplicated on seven pages, and nowhere in your schema

    Roughly included in a rebuild

The rate block is repeated verbatim across seven pages of naikoretreat.com.au. The structured data types the property as a Resort with no aggregateRating, no offers, and an FAQ page typed as an Article.

Seven copies means seven places to update the night you change a price, and one of them will be missed. And search engines are being handed no rating and no price, so they cannot show either.

Check it: Change a rate and count the pages.

  7. Both sites run on bare Apache with no CDN

Roughly a day, and then it is permanent

No content delivery network, and cache-control set to max-age=0 — every visitor re-downloads everything, every time, from a single server.

Most of your enquiries arrive on a phone, often on mobile data, often somewhere with one bar. The photography is the product and it is the slowest thing on the page.

Check it: Open your site on a phone away from wi-fi.

  8. Two real revenue lines have no page at all

Roughly two days including the copy

Weddings and elopements at Deep Creek, and the wellness retreats held on site, are both things you do and neither has a page on either website.

Somebody searching 'elopement Fleurieu Peninsula' cannot find you, because there is nothing to find. This concept adds both.

Check it: Search your own site for 'wedding'.

What you are looking at

One brand, two houses, twenty-four pages

Both properties, under one roof

The Retreat and the Villa in one navigation, one rate card, one enquiry path — and a comparison page that tells somebody honestly which of the two they want.

Your reviews, finally visible

The 5.0 on the homepage, a page of the reviews themselves, and the rating in the structured data so Google can show it in a search result.

Your own film, running the hero

The opening sequence is cut from the video already on naikoretreat.com.au and your own Instagram. Nothing is stock and nothing is generated.

Your photography, restored

Every photograph has been enlarged and cleaned up from the published files — the Villa's especially, which were capped at 800 pixels. The masters from your photographers would be better again.

Ten awards, as ten readable marks

The awards strip has been cut into its ten separate badges, each with its own description, with the same facts repeated in words and in schema.

Pages you don't currently have

Weddings and occasions, a seasonal guide, the wildlife, the four trails, the off-grid story, a proper amenities list for Deep Creek, and the regional guide that only lives on the Bluff domain.

Two things would make this visibly better

Neither costs anything. Both are sitting on somebody's hard drive.

The photography masters

Your published photographs top out at 1500 pixels wide, and the Villa's at 800. Sam Noonan, Grant Hunt and Mish & Kirk will have originals many times that. They would go straight in.

The film masters

The hero film on naikoretreat.com.au is 1920 × 800 and already compressed; the Bluff's banner is 1700 × 750. Whoever shot them will have the graded originals.

The deck at dusk with the coastline beyond

No obligation, and no hard feelings

If this is not for you, we would still rather you took the eight findings above and gave them to whoever does look after your sites. They are worth doing on their own.

If it is, we would be glad to talk it through with whoever needs to be in the room.
