How long does it take to get there?
Naiko Retreat is under two hours from the Adelaide CBD — 114km, with the last 6km on unsealed road. Give yourself longer than the map says; the drive down is part of it. Naiko at the Bluff is about 80 minutes.
Can we bring children?
At Deep Creek, children are welcome, but the retreat sits on a steep hill close to the beach and bushland, so it may not suit children under 10 — particularly toddlers. The Villa at the Bluff is built for families and has a bunk room sleeping four.
Can I bring a dog?
No. Both properties are working sheep farms. Pets are prohibited for their own safety and for the sheep's, especially during lambing.
Is there phone signal and wi-fi?
Yes to both, if you want them. The Villa runs on Starlink. Most guests at Deep Creek use the trip to put the phone down, but the wi-fi is there if you can't.
Where do we buy groceries?
Deep Creek is remote — about 35 minutes from Normanville and Yankalilla. Most guests stop at Drakes in Yankalilla and pick up bread at the Yankalilla Bakery. The Delamere Store, 15 minutes away, covers the basics you forgot.
Do we have to cook?
No. Both kitchens are fully equipped and the pantries are stocked with oil, vinegar, herbs, spices, flour, sugar, tea and Nespresso pods — but you can also have platters, prepared meals or a private chef brought in.
Can we have a party?
Not without asking first. Both properties limit events, and the Bluff has a firm no on parties and schoolies. Small weddings and celebrations at Deep Creek are possible, but numbers are capped — talk to the manager before you book anything else.
Is there an EV charger?
There is one at The Villa. Deep Creek runs entirely off-grid on solar, battery and a backup generator, so charging there isn't available.
